With Black Flower calls on the Belgian saxophonist Nathan Daems a quirky band in life. He is influenced by the legendary Mulatu Astatke, Getatchew Mekurya and Fela Kuti, by Ethiopian jazz, afro-beat, oriental and blues music. The band brings an infectious, psych psychedelic mix of groovy jazz, funky soul and Ethiopian melancholy.
The band members were previously part of Antwerp Gipsy Ska Orkestra, Lady Linn & The Magnificent Seven and Think of One and worked with Calexico, Beck, Marc Ribot, dEUS and Kocani Orkestar.
